By adding Plyometrics into your daily workout routine you can take your abilities to the next level. These exercises will help condition your body to make quick , explosive , and powerful movements. When conditioning your mind and body repetitively like this you’ll teach it how to work together more efficiently. As an athlete who wouldn’t want to become stronger, jump higher, run faster , and be able go that extra distance to be on top?
Through these repetitive quick movements your body will build faster reaction times when these bursts of power and speed are needed. As Bruce Lee once said “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” The same principle applies here. The more you practice doing this type of training the more you’re preparing yourself to be able to preform at a higher level.
A problem with working out for a sport is plateauing. This is when your body gets used to a routine and you are no longer physically progressing. This is where the many different variations of exercises in this type of training comes into play. With plyometrics there are many ways to increase the intensity and variety of your workout. For example you can make a circuit with different exercises and can simply make it harder by decreasing rest time between stations or increasing the duration spent at each station. By always changing your workout your body will have a more difficult time getting used to the routine so it’ll be harder to plateau. So add some plyo into your routine and jump to a better you.
